I will start with the Cycling Road way (Route 16) and then cover the Bridge way (Route 12). I think that the Cycling Road is easier, and Route 12 is harder. I suggest going to Fuchsia first, and there are two ways to get there, both involving waking up the sleeping Snorlax using the Pokeflute recently gifted by Mr. There are a range of things to do now, you could head into Saffron City, but I think this is harder than what this walkthrough does so I will cover it after Fuchsia City.

Kadabra has low defense so target that with some Physical attacks, but be careful of its high Spec. Ground, rock or water attacks will take care of him. Exeggcute is pretty easy, anything basically can take it down and it doesn't do much, as is Growlithe. Electric Pokemon can take both of these down pretty easy. If your Rival has Gyarados it will use Thrash which can do big damage but it will confuse itself after a while.

The Safari Zone fishing rates are mostly the same as the regular routes, except for a few exceptions mentioned below.If you chose: Bulbasaur | Charmander | Squirtle There are lots of Pokemon that only appear in the Safari Zone, so pray to the RNG gods for luck before venturing forth. The Safari Zone is infuriating for Nuzlocke runs, as it contains so many rare Pokemon, and they're all a nightmare to catch. Seel and Slowpoke are especially good Pokemon to encounter here.
